France alcohol tester

France by car, you are legally obliged to have 2 alcohol testers with you.
These two testers are based on disposable alcohol testers. If you have a
digital breathalyzer, one is sufficient. If you are arrested by the police, you
will have to prove that you have it with you. However, if you do not have
alcohol testers with you, you will not be fined. This has not been the case
since 2013. Good to know: if you are stopped by the police for an alcohol test,
you will use the police breathalyzer. The alcohol testers in your car are
purely for personal use. In France, the maximum permitted alcohol content is
0.5 per mille, just like in the Netherlands. For drivers who have had their
driving license for less than three years, a maximum alcohol content of 0.2 per
mille applies.
