Washing the car yourself is often a lot cheaper than letting it wash at a car cleaner or car wash. In addition, the brushes of a car wash can leave scratches on the paint of your car, which is something you, of course, want to prevent. At a car wash, you also have a good chance that the brushes cannot reach all the corners. Therefore, it is advisable to wash your car manually now and then.

If you are planning on washing your car manually, you need a soft cleaning cloth, a sponge and a wash mitt. Of course, you can also order these products easily at Winparts. When washing your car, we recommend doing this in the shade instead of in the sun. In the sun, the car will dry too quickly, which can cause streaks on your paint.

Before you start, you will first have to remove the loose dirt and sand from the car with some water. If you do not do this, the dirt or sand can cause scratches while cleaning. Also, we advise you to first clean the hard-to-reach places with a high-pressure cleaner. When finished, you can start washing your car.

Clay bars

Do you regularly clean your car with car shampoo? Then the car might look clean, but in fact, a lot of hidden or stubborn dirt remains on the car. This dirt can eventually damage the paint of your car. With a clay bar, you can easily remove this hidden and stubborn dirt. Using a clay bar is also called deep cleaning. When claying your car, you edit the car with a small piece of special clay called detailing clay or smooth surface clay. This clay is not like ordinary clay but is made of a sturdier material to which a mild abrasive is added. The abrasive in the clay ensures the most stubborn dirt to be broken down. After your car is fully clayed, it does not only look super clean, but it also feels extremely soft.

How to remove resin

Resin or tree sap is known as the most stubborn dirt on your car. The resin comes from trees, especially during the warmer days. In spring and summer, little bits of resin drips down, which eventually ends up on your car. Tree sap is stubborn dirt because it strongly adheres to the paint. This is also why it is difficult to remove the resin from the car. On the internet, you will find multiple grandmother remedies on how to remove resin from your car. We, however, recommend you to use a good and professional resin polish to remove the tree saps. With a good resin remover, you prevent the paint from being damaged. Resin polish is a liquid that can be applied directly to the paint. Next, the resin remover will dissolve the tree saps. You can then remove the resin with a soft cleaning cloth.

Tar remover

Another stubborn dirt is tar. Tar is a black, sticky substance that can often be found at the bottom of the car. When roads are newly asphalted, tar can splash against your car. Removing tar is relatively easy, especially if you use a good tar remover. A good tar remover will dissolve the tar on your car. You can then wipe the tar off with a soft cleaning cloth or microfiber towel.

Bug remover

You can hardly ignore the insects on your car, especially in the summer. It is important that you do not leave the insects on the car for too long. The juice released from the insects is often difficult to remove if left for too long. In addition, these juices can also negatively affect the paint on your car, what you obviously do not want. Therefore, you will have to remove insects for your car regularly. With a bug remover or insect remover, you will get your car clean easily.

Car wash

Is your car ready to be cleaned? To get the best result, you best choose a good car shampoo. We do not recommend cleaning your car with a detergent. Detergent can negatively affect the wax or sealant of the car. This means that the paint could be damaged and look less pretty. However, a good car shampoo ensures that the paint of your car is protected.
